Yes, we offer a substantial self-service continental breakfast for £4 per person. We can also provide packed lunches or one pot evening meals for groups of six or more. Please contact the hostel directly for details as these require to be booked well in advance.
There are two shops within the village which are open from 9am until early evening. There are also a number of local pubs and restaurants in both Tomintoul and Glenlivet that serve food.
Bedding is supplied free of charge and towels can be hired for £1.00
We are happy to welcome your well behaved pet as long as you contact us in advance and book a private room.
Most mobile phone networks receive a good signal within Tomintoul, although there are a number of areas that have no coverage if you are venturing out to explore the local area. If you do not have a mobile there is a telephone box by the local Post Office.
Unfortunately, there is not an ATM within Tomintoul, however, you can withdraw cash during the day from the Post Office and some of the pubs and shops do offer cashback.
All our rooms are mixed sex dorms but we can arrange private rooms for single sex groups.
Unfortunately, Tomintoul does not have its own petrol station. Depending on which direction you are travelling you will find fuel within 10-15 miles at Grantown on Spey, Ballindalloch, Dufftown, Braemar and Ballater. We always advise hostellers to arrive with a full tank or hire our electric bikes!
In order for you to plan your next days activities, we post a comprehensive daily update every evening in the common room using the Mountain Weather Information Service .
